Sorry y'all. I know its been a few days. I apologize. I guess there's not a whole lot that has been going on for me to blab about. Odd, I know.

Tuesday's Workout

Since my training for the half marathon will be beginning in a few weeks, I figured I should start working on getting my mileage endurance back up for those long runs. So today I did a "sort of" long run.

4 miles - 45:33

Now, let me just tell you that THIS IS THE FASTEST I'VE EVER RUN THIS! Plus, I beat my time from Saturday by a whole minute and 15 seconds!!!

Oh yeah! {insert happy dance}

I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not a fast runner so this is kind of a big deal to me. I'd just like to be able to run a 10 minute mile as comfortably as I can now run a 12 minute mile. Instead of bumping up my speed by 0.1mph each tenth of a mile for my last mile (which is what I did Saturday), I ran the WHOLE MILE at 6.0mph (which is a 10 minute mile). Yeah, it sucked, but I did it and that's all that matters to me!

Sunday's Green Ogre

Well, Sunday I tried a new concoction for my ogre. I nixed the PB :( and used spinach (duh), frozen bananas, frozen strawberries and frozen raspberries. I also put in a cup of skim milk and two scoops of the vanilla protein powder. It was alright. I'm not crazy about it - plus it was more brown than green.

I'm anxious to try this recipe Thursday morning, since I won't be working out:

‘Amazing’ Cantaloupe-Banana Green Monster
Ingredients:
3 cups organic spinach
1-1.25 cups milk (your choice of cow’s milk, soy, hemp, almond, rice, etc)
1 tablespoon flax (optional)
1/2 banana
1 cup juicy cantaloupe
1 scoop Amazing Grass Wheat Grass
ice

Directions:
Place the ingredients into the blender and blend for 1-2 minutes. Add ice for a margarita effect. Who needs Air Conditioning, anyways? Now lace those sneakers up and hit the pavement with boundless energy!

This was taken from the girl's website who apparently created the first "Green Monster": http://greenmonstermovement.com/.

I have cantaloupe left over from a recipe I made a few nights ago and its waiting patiently in my fridge until I have a chance to use it in my next ogre. I don't have any AG Wheat Grass although I do think I have some flax... well I something in my pantry that I think might be flax - I don't remember for sure if that's what it is. hee hee - oops. Also, I don't think I'll be using any ice. However, I will throw in a scoop of protein powder just for good measure. I'll let you know how it turns out!

I'm waiting until Thursday because that's my "rest" day. I can't eat or drink much before I workout or else I get stomach pains really bad so I have to wait for a day that I'm not working out.

Well, I think that's about all for today. I need to get to work.

Hope all of you have a great Tuesday!

Keep on Truckin'!

Nice job on the workouts and I'm pumped that your run was faster than ever! That's so cool!

I'm excited for you to start training for the half marathon!

I've been MIA too, just stressed with all the changes, not as much time to blog/read blogs.

Awesome job on your workouts girl! I don't put strawberries in my ogres anymore because it just tastes a little funny. I don't think they're sweet enough.

I'm alive! I swear!
