I really like being a morning person!

Ouch. I just burnt my toe on the 2156786321 year old heater that's under my desk at work.

Why, you might ask, am I barefoot? Because my feet are FREEZING so I'm trying to get feeling back in my toes! And, the only closed toe flats that I have are these little ballarina flats I got at Wal-Fart for $10 like two years ago. (they really need retired) The only problem is that when I've got them on and I try to head up my toes they make me feet sweat (eww gross) so I take them off while I warm up... complicated, I know...

So, yeah. I'm cold. And I had to go field measure this morning so wearing my nice closed up high heel boots (my only other option at the present time) with nice warm socks was out of the question. Too much walking for heels.

So, I braved the cold and headed to the gym this morning. I'm so glad I've decided to start going in the mornings. I can just imagine how much of a meat market it is in the evenings. I don't miss that ONE BIT! I've really only noticed 3 or 4 more people than usual in the mornings which brings the attendance to a whopping total of 10.

I had to improvise my workout a little because Michael didn't have the HIIT workout up on his FitQuest blog yet when I was getting all of my gym stuff together and heading to bed last night. Which wasn't a big deal until I saw what the workout ended up being for today! I'm totally bummed now because I think I really would have liked the one he posted for today. Oh well, I'll just be doing that one next Tuesday. Can't wait! (wow! never thought I'd be excited for a workout! ha!)

So speaking of working out, here's what I did:

CORE
20 Reverse Crunches using the "Captain's Chair"
30 Oblique RC's (each side) again on CC I split this up into three sets of 10
40 Toe touch crunches 2 sets of 20
50 second Plank two 25 second rounds

3 sets of 5 reps - Turkish Situp Getups with 12lb weight
(Alright, these sucked:
One - I think I picked too heavy of a weight even though the range given to choose from was 10-20 lbs.
Two - as a result I could hardly get my shoulder blades off the mat let alone my whole upper body.
Three - I think I used my neck and shoulders more than my abs on this one because my neck muscles were hurting afterwards. Not cool...)

CARDIO
I did the same cardio as yesterday only I did much better, as least I think so, but I don't get why I didn't go as far?? What the crap?

30 seconds @ 100%
90 seconds @ 65%
6 rounds

I did all 6 rounds at 6.5mph for 100% and 5.5/5.4 mph for 65% at a 2% incline (same incline as yesterday) yet I only ran 1.19 miles as opposed to 1.23 or whatever it was for yesterday. argh. The only thing I can figure is that I tried one of the "new" treadmills we just got at the gym and maybe the other ones (that are really old) aren't quite right.

The gym put bows on a couple of new pieces of equipment but I don't think they're actually new because the t-mill I was on today, while it was nicer than the old ones, definitely had some wear and tear on it that wouldn't have happened in the two weeks its been there. For example, when I was wiping it down after I was done, the grab bar thing with the heartrate sensors spun and was loose and coming off - I definitely don't think its supposed to do that...

In other news, (oh boy, Mah-tha is arguing with her British husband on the phone at the prior moment. Seriously, I couldn't handle that man.) thanks for the responses to my blog yesterday about the change of profession. (its so fun to check my blog and see comments! yay! you like me, you really like me! haha)

I really have no clue what I'm going to do. I'm at least going to stick it out here until I have the chance to see if there's something better out there for me. I know that if I find the right firm, I'll have a totally different outlook. It may mean that we have to move, which is the biggest hurdle for us at the moment, but who knows. Time will tell. Plus, I just recently got my certification and seeing as how I had to pay $1000 to take that friggin test, I probably should stick it out for a while. lol

Well, speaking of professions, I probably should get some work done. T-minus 2 hours and counting.

I have a meeting tonight after work to discuss a freelance project that I'm going to be doing over the next two weeks that will potentially earn us an extra $2600 this month! Woo hoo! If that's what it works out to be, after I take out for taxes, we'll have $1800 to put toward replenishing our Emergency fund and paying off our first debt! WOO FRICKIN HOO! I've been dying to say that our first debt is paid off! The only bummer is that our other three debts are doozies so its going to be awhile till I get to say that again, but nevertheless, its one less debt on our plate! yay!

Until next time,

Lacey
