Is this thing on?

Alright. So you know that little clock that's down in the right hand corner of your computer screen? Yeah, that one. I think mine's broken. I think that it's slowing down to the point that 1 minute is actually 5 minutes. There's no way it can only be 3:40. NO WAY! That means I still have an hour left at work. Seriously? I'm going to lose it. Can somebody please start installing padding on the walls of my office? I'm THIS CLOSE to going haywire.

Add to that the fact that my stomach is completely not a happy camper this afternoon. I swear its tripled in size since this morning! My buttons on my pants are moaning in protest. I haven't done bad with my eating today, either. Actually, I've done rather well. I don't know what's up.

Oh wait, maybe I do...

We had Taco Bell for dinner last night. Oh boy. Yeah, yeah, I know. Say no more. Already TMI. haha Well deal with it. Considering the amount of pain I'm in right now, a little TMI is nuthin!

On top of that, my sinuses are making me miserable.

I'm just falling apart right now. Ugh.

Alright. Enough complaining.

Although it kept me from going to bed until after 11:00 last night, I resisted the urge to talk myself out of working out this morning. So I packed up my gym back and figured out what my plan of attack was for the morning. Although, the way my workout started out, I should have just stayed in bed (I'll explain...)

Anyway, here's my "Legs" workout for this week:

STRENGTH
3 sets of 15/12/10

Wall Squats with Exercise Ball (15 lbs all sets) 12.5/12.5/15
Forward Lunges with DB (8 lbs all sets) 7.5/10/10
Sumo Squats with single DB to replace the dorky "side lunges" I attempted last week in an effor to work my inner/outer thighs
15lbs/20/25
Split Squats (8 lbs all sets) 7.5/10/10

So I was back in the "ladies exercise area" and was just getting started. Seriously, I was on my first set of reps of the wall squats. Well, I got about 4 of them done when my feet flew out from under me and all of a sudden I found myself flat on my butt (well, my right butt cheek). My shoes were still wet from walking in and they lost traction and slid (FLEW) right out from under me. There was slush slung about 5 feet out in front of me from my shoes. Luckily, I landed on my hip rather than straight down, because that would have been bad for the backular area.

So yeah, I was THIS CLOSE to marching right back to the locker room and heading straight to the showers. But, alas, I stuck it out. Thank god I wasn’t out in the ab/strength training room where I usually do my wall squats. All of the spinners would have seen me since they didn’t close the door this morning. That would have been AWESOME!

So anyways, since I was in the "ladies area" they have weird weights which is why I have the 12.5 and 7.5 weights listed. After my second (successful) set of wall squats, these two grumpy ladies (that I'm not very fond of) came into the area I was in so I migrated out to the ab/ST room where I usually do my workouts.

CARDIO

I attempted my first ever tabata today. Which, by the way, is why I was in the ladies area initially. They have a single t-mill back in the corner that I was hoping to use since people don't really do "unusual" t-mill workouts at my gym. If you do, you get strange looks. Everybody just gets on, pushes start, and that's it. If they're feeling adventurous, they might increase the incline a bit - but not too much, that would look too weird.

So, I typically try to avoid drawing attention to myself if at all possible. But seeing as how I was already on the fast track to making a complete fool of myself from my earlier wall squat episode, I figured "what the heck? I don't care what all those other boring t-mill users think. I'm going to do my workout right out there in the open. There. Take that."

So back to my cardio:
I set the incline at 10% and the speed at 5.0mph. I think the last round I bumped it up to 5.5 or 6.0, I can't remember. Either way, it was a nice change of pace and it only took me a little over 5 minutes, including my cool down. After 5 minutes I was sweating as much as I am when I run 5 miles!

At that point, I called it a morning and hit the showers.

Well, I've sucessfully killed about 30 minutes so I'm going to wrap things up and start my trek home from work. I hope the roads aren't too slick. Wish me luck!

Until next time...

Lacey

I'm sorry you have a tummy ache. :(

YAY for your workout! Way to get it done girl!

The 10-12% incline run on the treadmill is ONE OF MY FAVORITES! It's so tough but so short! It's seriously an amazing workout so I'm glad you tried it!

I'm alive! I swear!

Yes, I'm here! I swear I'm here! I've had about a kazillion things going on and haven't had the time to blog. I've k...
