Green Monster

So have you heard of this? A Green Monster?

Kristen is always blogging about this breakfast smoothie she makes. While she calls her version a Green Ogre (haha I LOVE Shrek!) its pretty much the same thing as a Green Monster, just with her own personal touches.

(deep breath) I think I'm going to try one...

I'm going to the grocery store tonight so its the perfect opportunity for me to pick up the neccessary ingredients. But, I'm not gonna lie. I'm kinda scared. haha Although green is my absolute FAVORITE color, I'm not sure how I feel about it as the color of my smoothie...

Nevertheless, I keep coming across people who are blogging about the Green Monster (or Ogre) they had for breakfast or an evening snack to curb a craving. So, naturally, I can't help but wonder what all of the hype is about?!

I'm going to use Kristen's recipe as it sounds more appealing to me than the one on the GM website. For her ogres she doesn't use ice, while the original GMs call for ice. I think I'll like it better without all the little ice balls in it - never did like that characteristic about homemade smoothies. Plus, we NEVER have ice cubes.

Also, I'm going to hold off on buying the $30+ (that's for the small size) container of Amazing Grass as well as the Chia Seed Mix (they're optional, anyways). I just can't get past thinking about all of those little seeds floating around in my funky colored smoothie and getting stuck in my teeth. Sorry Kristen - in time. haha I have to get past the initial gulp, first. ;)

I think my brother might have some protein powder that he doesn't like and hasn't used that I might bum off of him. I just hope its not the muscle builder kind. I'm thinking it might be, though, so that won't be good. I definitely don't need to bulk up. I've already got enough junk in my trunk. haha

Does anybody know if this is what Rene Russo's character is drinking in "The Thomas Crown Affair" in order to beat her jet lag? I think it is...

I didn't work out this morning which is probably a good thing because my stupid knee is bothering me again. It hurt last Thursday, as well, which is coincidently the day after I do my "legs" workout - hmm I'm sensing a pattern. I'll be going tomorrow morning to do a "pull" workout and some cardio.

If you're wondering where I get my workouts from, I get them from Kelsa's husbands blog. Check out his workouts here. Every evening he posts a new workout for the next day. If you give one a try, drop him a line and let him know what you think - even if you have to adjust the workout to your level and/or specific needs. There are lots of times that I can't do what he has listed so I just adjust them to what I can do to work the same muscle groups.

I've only been doing his workouts for a couple of weeks but I'm already seeing where I'm getting stronger and improving each week. I think his strength training is really going to supplement my training program for the half marathon. I may have to switch what days I do the workouts to fit my running schedule but all in all I think it will be a good training program.

Also, if you get a chance, swing over to Kristen's blog and send your well wishes to her family. Her husband is headed down to Haiti to help with the devistation. We need to keep all of the aids, families and victims affected by this situation in our prayers.

Lastly, I'll leave you with this: If I'm an INTERIOR Designer, can somebody please tell me why I'm working on EXTERIOR Elevations?!?! You don't ask a Chiropractor to look at a tooth you're having problems with, do you? UGH!

Alright, I'm done.

Until next time...

Lacey

Thanks for the shout out of M's blog. I'm really glad you're following along, participating, and even more important, seeing improvements! That's awesome!

Finally- you're an interior designer? I had no idea! I need your help girl... it's just not something I'm naturally good at it. Some people have it, some people don't, I'm in the latter group.
