muuuuch better

Thanks for all of your postive comments from yesterday's post. I did wayy better yesterday with my eating. I also made it to the gym for a workout but forgot to post what I did. So, I'll just go ahead and post yesterday's and todays...


MONDAY
Strength - Push
2 sets of 12
65% 1RM
45 seconds rest

1. Superset
Dumbell bench press - 15/15
Modified Push ups - 12/12 (oh yeah!)

2. Superset
Dumbell shoulder press - 10 @ 15lbs/12 @ 12 (should I stand for these? I've been doing these seated...)
Tricep dips on bench with legs extended straight - 10 reps/15 reps

3. Exercise ball push ups - 15
did these with ball against the wall and modified on my knees.

Cardio

I did the 30 seconds @ 100%, 90 seconds @ 65% routine.

I have no idea how far I went. I got messed up in the middle because a guy I know, through work, showed up and couldn't get his treadmill figured out beside me, so I had to hop off and show him real quick. I did all of them at 6.0 mph and 5.5 mph, though.


TUESDAY
H.I.I.T. - "Kelsa"

5 minutes cardio
10 push-ups
20 pull-ups (10 @ 60lbs, 10 @ 80 lbs)
30 sit-ups
40 squats
5 minutes cardio
10 push-ups
20 pull-ups (20 @ 80 lbs)
30 sit-ups
40 squats
5 minutes cardio

For the cardio intervals, I did the elliptical on level 10, the bike on level 10 and the dreadmill at 6.0 mph/incline 2%.

The push-ups were "girly" ones, the pull-ups were assisted as noted, the sit-ups were on an incline bench and the squats were "sumo" squats holding a 20 lb weigh.


I love love loved this workout!! Maybe next time I do this one I'll do wall balls instead of squats?? Who knows, its great the way it is!


My eating for yesterday was back to normal:
Breakfast - Oatmeal 3 points
Lunch - Left Overs 8 points
Snack - THE LAST SPECIAL K BAR! Woo hoo! haha 2 points
Dinner - Mushroom & Spinach Alfredo with Crunchy Green Salad 8 points
NO DESSERT! WOO HOO!!
Points total - 21

Today's eating looks like this:
B - Yogurt smoothie while driving to work 6 points
Plain Oatmeal with Banana 3 points
L - Left Overs from last night 6 points
S - Banana 1 point
D - Enchillada Hamburger Helper, 1-2 tortillas, refried beans, chips & salsa 15 points
Points total - 31

Alright, so I know you're scratching your head, saying wait a minute, I thought you only get 21 points a day - what's with the 31 you have planned for today?

I know that what we're having for dinner isn't ideal, but I'm being honest with myself. I KNOW that that's what I'm going to eat. The thing that set me over for today was the yogurt smoothie I drank on my way to work. Its been in my fridge for about a week now and if I didn't drink it, it was going to go bad. Plus, I know there was more than one serving left, so I'm counting it as two servings.

But actually, 1 weight watcher point roughly equals 50 calories, so even at 31 points, I'm still coming in at 1550 calories for today. That's as much as some people eat just for lunch at McDonald's!

So when i was peeling my banana for my oatmeal this morning, there was a sticker on it that said to check out http://www.dolebananadiet.com/. So I did. It was kinda informative. Plus, it gives you menus! I love that! You should check it out. If anything, you might learn something!

I definitely think I need to work more fruits and veggies into my eating. I know I eat more than some people, but I also know I could eat more. I might use their menus to help me structure my eating a little better. I don't think my snacks are working as effectively for me as they could.

Well, I've actually got some things to keep my busy today and I also have a meeting starting soon so I better get going.

I will, however, leave you with this:

I work with a bunch of old people. And we're talking OLD - like late 60's early 70's old. One guy is in his 80's (but he's my favorite). Anyhow, I've noticed that the older you get, the less you feel the need to hide your bodily functions and ailments. Right beside my box of splenda on the back shelf is a bottle of anesthepic (however you spell it) oral mouth rinse. Eeew. Deal with your dentures at home!
