I didn't have time or feel like messing with lunch before I left work plus I had a bunch of errands to run soooo as I wait for the hubby to get home from work with my stomach growling I siezed the moment! Carpe diem!
(in retrospect, if I had been in true blog form, I would have taken photos of all of these steps but I didn't and I apologize)
After digging my blender out of the back of a cupbord and dusting if off, I carefully measured out:
4 cups spinach
1 cup skim milk
1 T Krema Natural PB (which I purchased special for the occasion)
1 cup frozen bananas (I bought about 7 over-ripe ones at the grocery store last night for less than a dollar!)
Add all the ingredients being sure to put the spinach in first. Blend until frothy.
Annnd?
VOILA!
MY FIRST EVER GREEN OGRE!!!
I wearily sniffed it a few times before I took my first guarded swig...
(so maybe this is a pic of my last swig, so sue me)
pondered it over for a minute...
and found it surprisingly delightful!
(at first I couldn't get myself to not look tired in this shot so I retook it about 10 times before I realized that I AM tired and have a headache creeping in, so how am I gonna not LOOK tired?? I just hope I don't always look this bad! haha)
Also, just a little side note... look at how much weight I've lost just in my FACE...
HOLY COW BATMAN!
That's me on the right. And actually, my friend Ashleigh that's with me has lost weight since then too...
I found this pic when I was looking for photos to put on Facebook and seriously said "wow" out loud. I didn't realize I looked that bad...
Anyways, back to the green monster....
At first it had a slight twinge of spinach taste but only because I think I was looking for it to taste like that. After the first few sips, I really only tasted the banana with a hint of peanut butter. And seeing as how I LOVE LOVE LOVE banana and PB sandwiches, it tasted great!!!
Plus, it totally filled up my belly! No more rumblies in my tumbly!! I've just got to figure out how many points this thing is...
I'm anxious to try it with some of the vanilla protein powder I bummed off my brother as well as all of the different versions that are on the green monster website. I bought a cantaloupe for a recipe that I'm making this week and have a feeling I'm going to have some left over, but that will work out great because I saw a version of the Go that uses cantaloupe! yay!
VERDICT: Awesome! Much better than I expected and so glad I tried it!
Well, Jason should be home from work soon. We're going out to eat tonight but I'm not quite sure where. I'm going to try to make a healthy choice. I'll let you know how I do.
Until next time,
Lacey

Told ya so :)
Glad to hear you liked it! I haven't strayed much with mine. I haven't added peanut butter because umm, I'm afraid of the extra fat (it's a mind thing) so I do all the other stuff. Vanilla Almond Milk is a great addition.
Wow! You've definitely lost a lot of weight! You don't even look like the same person! Nice job!
Did you put any protein in the shake? I'm just curious b/c everything is carbs- the spinach and the bananas. The PB is a fat probably and there's protein in the milk but not a ton. Just curious.
