The poor girl that was supposed to open the gym didn't show up until like 6:15 - talk about a rough start. The cleaning lady opened the gym up but none of the computers were running and the music wasn't playing. lol
So, we all - yes, there's a line of people just itching to be the first one in there. Including the annoying gross guy with the annoying "shorts problem". Seriously dude, its like 2 degrees out - wear pants! Please! grr.
Sorry. ...we all just wrote down our numbers on a sheet of paper (we usually punch them into the computer) to log in.
Today was legs. I did my usual routine because I was too tired and lazy last night to figure out something different. Here's how it went:
STRENGTH
Exercise Ball Wall Squats 20/15/15
Barbell Lunges 10/10/10
Split Squats 10/10/10
Sumo Squats 20/25/30
3 sets of 12
CARDIO
Here's where things went wrong.
I wore these little tennis shoe things in this morning to avoid getting my good shoes wet. (remember the slipping incident from last Wednesday? yeah, trying to avoid that) Anyways, they're these flimsy little things. I actually found a pic of them on Payless's website... See? (can you tell I finally took the time to figure out how to include links?)
So yeah, not conducive to running at all. I had left them on for my strength training because they dried off a lot quicker than my running shoes so I didn't bother changing. Plus, I wasn't planning on doing any cardio because I had to meet someone at 7:15 for work.
Well, this guy that I talked back into running the half that I'm running and also to join the gym I go to instead of the "Y", showed up and was running so I thought, "what the heck, I'll go run a mile, these shoes won't be THAT bad. I just read an article about people running BAREFOOT!" (I really did think all that in my head)
I made it a quarter of a mile.
Not only did the shoes provide absolutely NO support, but they were too loose so my socks were sliding off my heal and down toward my toes and they made this smacking noise on the treadmill every time I took a step. I sounded like a duck trying to run on a treadmill - smack, smack, smack.
I ended up walking for 10 minutes at like an 8% incline. Phooey.
When I was in the shower, my back muscles finally started to relax from my stupid little jog with practically no shoes, since they had to work overtime to protect my back from all the jarring, and I really realized my stupidity. Never again. I promise!
I finally am including pictures of my new stove!!
I think I already told you that I named her Natasha.
BEFORE
AFTER
Yay! Isn't she purty?! I love her! Unfortunately we still have the old hood but it actually would look worse without it. Eventually, I'm going to get a new microwave that also works as a hood and put it above it. I had that setup in college and loved it. But, the way the cabinet is right now above the stove, it won't work. Not enough room. But, it will definitely do for now.
Lastly, I finally finished up the small little freelance project I was working on. I included the invoice with the final draft that I gave the client this morning (that's who I had to meet at 7:15). Ready to hear how much I made?!?! Drumroll please....
$1755.00! Holy Moley Batman! So, after I take 30% out for taxes, we will successfully be replenishing our Emergency Fund AND putting a big chunk of change toward our smallest debt! I had anticipated not getting it paid off until August (which would still have been early by about three years) but now it looks like we'll have it paid off in just a couple of months! Woo hoo! On to paying off the truck!!
Well, that's all for today, folks. Thanks to those few who have been leaving comments! It makes me feel special! I feel like I have a whole new group of friends now and I love it! Throughout the day, I find myself wondering how each of you are doing. Have a great Wednesday everybody!!
Until next time...
Lacey
