Sadly, I am back at work today. I was thoroughly enjoying my time off and did not want it to come to an end. :(
So now that I'm back to my normal routine, I went to the gym this morning and did my Push workout. Here's how it went:

REFLECTION
Note: Green is for last week's attempt, Orange is for this today.
So I started out with a little less weight for my bench presses hoping it would help the amount of push-ups I was able to do. Yeah, not so much.
However, I WAS able to complete two sets of 12 reps on the exercise ball push-ups. Last week I wasn't able to do any! Yay! Methinks that last week I didn't do a long enough rest between my final set of modified push-ups and my exercise ball push-ups.
Last week I did the cardio portion on the bike but this week I decided to give it a try on the treadmill. I enjoyed it more running than on the bike, believe it or not! haha I really think I could have pushed myself harder, though. Oh boy! Another goal! haha
In other news. Mah-tha (the woman whos office is beside me and who's husband is British so I spell it like he pronounces it when he calls for her - which is, like, every half hour...) Anyways, Mah-tha's driving me crazy today. She had to go and pick the absolute squeakiest chair in the office to use. So every time she wheels around, the chair squeaks and moans in protest. Its like a 30 year old chair...
And somebody has some serious gas today. Yuck. And its not me!
I really hope the economy picks up soon. I'm not sure how much longer I can last here.
On that note, let me throw this out at you...
I've always been a fan of math and crunching numbers - which is totally out of character for my profession. In fact, before I became a design major, I was a forensic chemistry major. Unfortunately, my first quarter of Chemistry, taken in conjunction with Biology, kicked my Freshman Fifteen Butt. Sooo, I turned to design. Crazy, I know. However, I continue to love numbers and working with them. In fact, in my wierd, convoluted world, when I get stressed - esp about money - I just review and tweak our budget - instant zen!
So, I've been toying with the idea of taking some business classes at our local Kent University branch. Particularly, an intro to business class accompanied with some finance & accounting classes. Am I crazy?
I've mentioned to hubby about my going back to school and while he's not exactely thrilled about it, since it would be for a COMPLETELY different profession, he'd go along with it if I decided it was best for us.
I've also thrown out the notion of going back to school once we pay off our debts while simultaneously being a stay-at-home mom, seeing as how we're holding off on having kids (unless mother nature intends otherwise) until we pay everything off. That way, my initial school loans would still get paid off and we could reassess our options for how to pay for said schooling. At that point, we may not be stuck with taking out another school loan although I would be okay with it if we had to. (I know, I know - totally not part of the Dave Ramsey plan.) Anyhow, if I went to school full time, I would have my degree by the time said child would be ready to go to pre-school. Perfect! Right?
I dunno. Any thoughts/comments? I've run this by a few of my friends and they're all for it. But, the one person who's opinion matters the most besides mine isn't so keen in the idea. sigh.
The only thing is, if I have the right kind of projects to work on, I love my profession. Its just the crap that I'm doing right now. I know I would LOVE my job if we weren't remodeling school after school after school. ugh.
Well, enough with being a Debbie Downer. I apologize. I honestly do realize I'm just fortunate to have a job and continue to tell myself that.
So, now that I've been working on trying to get this post up for four hours (hey, its not easy to do a post while you're at work!) I suppose I should zip my lip for today.
Until next time...

I'm sorry someone is stinky McStinkerson at your office! that's not cool! (but funny)
Nice job on your workouts and the improvement. After doing the bench press, push-ups kill me too! I can do a few by themselves but if I do the bench press first, my chest is toast and the push-ups suffer.
As for your schooling- I'd try not to think of it as an "all or nothing" decision. I say take 1 class each semester (if and only if you can cash flow it). See if you like it and really think about what you WANT to do with that education.
Only when you are completely sure would I go to school full time and consider swapping careers. I would continue to do some soul-searching, read the book "48 days to the work you love" which may help.
I have an MBA and honestly, I could do my job with a chemistry degree. It's about common sense, not what classes I took in school.
Hey Lacey! First of all, thanks for the b-day wishes on my blog. That was incredibly kind.
As for your career swap, I can only offer you my expereince. My undergrad degree is in journalism but I'm currently a paralegal. After working in a few low paying and dead end journliasm jobs, I opted to go back to school full time and get my paralegal degree. This meant creating student loan debt when I had none.
For me though, creating that debt made sense because I knew with my new degree I would make about $10,000 more a year than I did as a journalist. And that pay increase made sense given the long term financial payout.
I'm not saying finances are the only reason to make a change, but if they are something you are factoring into your decision, consider how this new degree could add to your networth. It's true I could have become a paralegal without a degree. But I also know it would have taken a lot more time to get to the place I am now, which is a pretty nice firm if I do say so myself.
