The Magnificently Wonderful Cookie Walk

Well, Happy Monday everybody.

Had a super busy weekend and I'm already ready for Friday. Anybody else?

I sleptwalked through my workout this morning (and have the bruise to prove it) and although I improved on my weights, my back is not feeling too hot so I had to cut my cardio short. Here's how I did:

Warm-up on elliptical - 5 minutes
Circuit 1
Modified push-ups 5/7/10 (5/5/10)
Hack Squats 15/15/15 (same)
Circuit 2
DB Chest Press 7.5/12.5/12.5 (7.5/7.5/12.5)
DB Flys 7.5/7.5/12.5 (7.5/7.5/7.5)
Circuit 3
Tricep Bench Dips
Leg Extensions 90/100/110 (80/90/100)
Circuit 4
DB Lateral Shoulder Raise (6/6/6) (same)
Sit-ups (last time just did basic crunches)
Circuit 5
DB Tricep Extensions 15 w/ 1-15lb weight (1-12lb)
3 sets of 15 Reverse crunches lay on incline bench with feet at low end, bring legs up until perpendicular to floor, keeping legs up, raise butt off bench, lower butt then legs. Thats one rep.

So, by this point my back was hurting pretty bad and it was joint pain, not muscle pain. So, I only did 5 minutes on the bike to cool down. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse because I was going to workout tomorrow morning and do my Wednesday routine because I'm not riding with Jason tomorrow. I'll post my workouts (and menu) later tonight.

In other news, if anybody ever invites you to a "Cookie Walk" and you think there's exercise involved - you're totally wrong. My mom and I decided to check out this cookie walk business that one of our local churches have. Well. Let me tell you. This is serious business.

Once you go in the church, they have you file in the pews in the order you arrive. Then, after you wait FOREVER they start dismissing you. As you file down into the basement you're handed a plastic glove and a rather good sized box. That's when you round the corner and you find yourself in a huge room with a maze of tables and more cookies than you've ever seen in your life!!!! It's cookie heaven!! There's tea cookies and pumpkin drops, sugar cookies and buckeys, thumbprint cookies and nut rollups, oreo bites and gingerbread men! There's cookies that you've never heard of before. What's even more amazing is that you have been informed that you can take as many or as little cookies as you want. If you need two boxes, they'll even give you TWO boxes! So. At this point I'm like a kid in a candy store - or rather a cookie shop. I start following the flow of traffic around the tables and can't believe what I'm seeing! I start placing cookies in my box hoping that I don't run out of room because I don't want to look like a horder and get two boxes. (but at that point I notice a woman who brought her husband so that she has a "box holder". She was on box #2 and had a third one yet to fill. Her bill was over $100!) Well, by the time I got to the end my box was pretty heavy. I was pretty proud of myself. I didn't have to get a second box. Mom and I headed over to the "weighing stations" and proudly placed our boxes on the scale (you pay by the pound). Mine came to 4.23lbs and mom's was 4.75lbs. HOLY COW! That's a shit-ton of cookies!

We won't discuss how many cookies Lacey has consumed since the cookie walk, but lets just say I'm feeling like a porker. They just sit there, calling my name. I'm reminded why I don't buy goodies at the grocery store. I can't wait until they're gone so that I stop eating them!! I don't know how Jason just walks by them and doesn't pay any noticed. (He's had some too, but I'm sure not as many as I have. I wish I would have just dumped the whole plate of oreo bites in my box. Those boogers were amazing!)

Other than the amazing cookie walk experience, I had my final two shifts of the Polar Express - one on Saturday night  and one Sunday afternoon. The Saturday one was fun since I was with a friend of mine but the Sunday one was lame-o. I couldn't wait to be done - at one point I contemplated jumping from the train. Just tuck and roll... I'm not sure if I'm going to help next year but at least I got to experience it.

Well, again I got nothing accomplished at home this weekend. I'm looking forward to this week being over so that I can get my house cleaned and get my christmas shopping done. I'm probably going to take the week off between Christmas and New Year's and I can't wait! I need a break from the monotony of work.

Well, I better get my day started. Until next time...
