Here comes the Polar Express!

Hey bloggies!

Quick post for now but I'll be back later, so don't you fret!

I'm volunteering to help at a local train station - its kinda a museum/historical site in our area. They do the Polar Express every year where kids can ride to the "North Pole" and all this other fun stuff! I'll let you know how it goes when I get back. I'm also scheduled to work two shifts next weekend as well. I even got a fun, festive outfit for the event! Yay!

Cheerio for now!

-------------------UPDATE--------------------

Alright. So I survived my first shift of the Polar Express. Having no idea what to expect, it turned out pretty cool.

Basically, families bring their kids to ride on the Polar Express to the "North Pole". During the ride, the Storyteller (aka person in charge of the train car) reads the story (the Polar Express) to the kids, after the story, the ST's assistant (that's me) and a bunch of elves (kids who have voluteered and are dressed like Santa's elves) then pass out hot cocoa & cookies, we sing Christmas songs and tell Christmas jokes on the way to the "North Pole". Once we get there, the train stops so that Santa can get on the train (there's one Santa for every two train cars) and ride back with us to the Depot. During the ride, Mrs. Claus passes through and signs the kids' tickets (and books if they brought their own copy) and there's also the conductor who comes through and punches all of the kids tickets. Santa stops in and talks to each of the kids, takes pics with them and signs their tickets/books. Then we sing more songs and tell more jokes as we make our way back to the Depot. All in all, its pretty cool. The kids are so cute!
When you volunteer you ride two trips to the North Pole. I'm signed up to do two shifts next weekend, one Saturday night (supposedly the night rides are the best because you can see all of the lights at the North Pole) and then another afternoon shift on Sunday, like I did today.

It was a lot of fun but I'm exhausted! In fact, I believe I'm going to call it a night.

I'm heading to the gym tomorrow morning again. I'm going to follow the same routine that I did last week for two more weeks, I think. (that includes this week and next) That way I can see if I improve at all. Then I'll switch to the next set of circuits.

Hope everybody had a great weekend and a great Monday!

Can you believe we're three weeks from Christmas?!?!

Ho! Ho! Ho!
