Got my lazy butt to the gym again this morning! Yay! Thank goodness the WOD was for Legs because my shoulder is still giving me problems. Here's how I did:
STRENGTH
4 sets of 8 reps
75% of 1RM
60 seconds of rest (I totally missed this and did all of the sets with no rest. Duh!)
1. Front squat
#15 "black rubber stick/bar thing" all sets
So yeah, I really suck at squats. I really don't think I was doing these right as every time I would squat my toes would turn out and I'd either almost fall forward or backward. At least everybody had some entertainment today. The first to sets of front squats were just a disaster so the final two sets I put the bar behind my head on my shoulders. Those weren't any prettier.
2. Single Leg Dead Lift (the WOD originally called for Suitcase Deadlifts, but I was worried about what these would do to my back so I modified)
#12 first set
#15 remaining sets
Loved these, but still had balance issues. Oy!
3. Split Squats
#8 first set
#15 remaining sets
LOVE THESE! MY HAMMIES ARE KILLING ME! By the final set my legs were toast! haha Now THAT'S what I'm taking about.
Add: Max rep of pull-ups
I did 10 pull-ups assisted with 60lbs.
CARDIO
Run 3/4 to 1 mile at 7% incline as fast as you can.
Let me just start by saying that the cardio today TOTALLY KICKED MY BUTT! But, it was great! (I'm saying that now, I probably wouldn't have agreed earlier this morning)
Unfortunately I had to jump off the T-mill every tenth of a mile or so because I was struggling so bad for air and I also had to hold on so that it didn't throw me off the back but I'd always been afraid to do incline runs so this was a new thing for me. I started off at 5.5 mph and slowly worked my way to 6.5 for the last tenth of a mile because I just wanted to be done with the bloody thing! I only made it 3/4 of a mile, but hey, now I have something to work toward. Look out J-Lo! Lacey's doing hill runs! Your butt ain't gonna have nothing on me! Woo hoo!
So my eating has been horrendous lately. Its not so bad when I'm at home, especially now that we've eaten all of the goodies we had but the goodie counter at work is constantly calling my name. And of course, I gave in this morning and grabbed a few things of the little tray of bite-sized goodies. I was particularly excited about this one little number that had a squirt of chocolate icing on top, was sprinkled with sugar and was some kind of brownie underneath. I unpeeled it from the little resse's cup type wrapper and took a bite.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! THERE WAS COCONUT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT!!!!
Alright guys, seriously? Is this some kind of sick joke? Have you hidden all of the non-coconut ones? Its just not funny anymore. Needless to say, I'm done eating from the christmas goodie counter. I suppose I've learned my lesson. No more coconut!
Well, its my last day at work until after the new year. I'm signed up for a "Special Edition" spinning class that they're having tomorrow morning at 5:45am since they're closed for the Friday one. I'm not guaranteed a bike because they were all full but I got on the list in case people cancel or don't show up. I'm hoping that people decide to be lazy tomorrow! If not, I'll have a back-up plan in place. You know me, the Chronic Planner.
Anyways, I better get to work. I've actually got stuff to do today. I'll post about my workout tomorrow morning when I get back home.
