Never fear, I'm still here!

Wow, so I hadn't realized that Wednesday was the last time I blogged. I really haven't been that busy, I suppose I've just been lazy in the blogging department.

I suppose I'll do a little day by day recap. I promise to keep this as short as possible...

Thursday
I woke up at 5:00am with full intentions of running at least 4.5 if not 5 miles. Well, the more I moved around the more I realized how exhausted I was. I stumbled right back into bed and slept for another hour and a half. It was great - although I was still pretty tired throughout the day.

Thursday evening I went to the library and picked up a few books to read for fun as well as a running book and about 3 books on vegetarianism/veganism. I started explaining about how my switch to vegetarianism was going but I realized that my post was getting really long and I hadn't event gotten to Friday's activities. I'll save that for another post - maybe tonight?

Friday
I made it to the gym Friday morning, as planned, but a little late. I was intending on doing my "Pull" workout but ran into a guy that I know through work. I talked him back into running the half marathon a few weeks back and we've been checking in on each other to see how our progress is going. He started his training last week (mine starts next Tuesday) and Friday was a "rest/strength training day" for him.

Well, he was going to do an easy 2 mile run but I stressed to him that you really shouldn't run on your rest days. So instead, I suggested he do the "Kelsa" HIIT workout I did a few weeks back from the workout blog I follow. So, since we both stumbled into the gym around the same time, I decided to go ahead and do the Kelsa workout with him, since he was a little hesitant to try it by himself. It made me a little later for work than I wanted to be, but I enjoyed it so it was worth it. Plus, I was sore the next day - bonus!

He emailed me this morning to complain about how sore he was the next day. However, he said that he's going to be using that workout on his rest days for the next few weeks instead of running so it must not have been that bad. I was so glad to hear that! Yay! I'm so glad I could help him!

Saturday
I actually got up before my weight watchers meeting and ran 5 miles. It didn't really help me much with my weigh-in, though. I was up 4.4lbs from when I was there the beginning of December. Ugh. Whatever. I'm contemplating not doing weight watchers much longer - I've lost interest in the whole thing. If I hadn't talked my mom into doing it with me, I'd stop going - but, I don't want to crap out on her. After the meeting, my mom and I went to the gym where I did my core workout and did an easy 20 minutes on the bike while she got her workout in.

Saturday evening we tried out a restaurant that we had been wanting to check out. It was very disappointing. In fact, I thought the food was rather gross - or maybe it was the way they had their "buffet" set up. I can't believe they're able to operate. In their defense, they just bought a new building and are making do with what they have until it gets renovated but I doubt it was up to health code standards. Ugh - makes me gag just thinking about it.

After dinner we stopped by Jason's dad & step-moms and visited for a while. We got home a little after 10pm and I went straight to bed. I was pooped.

Sunday
...was uneventful. I cleaned, did laundry and got groceries. I did however make tofu chocolate mousse. It was actually really good but I didn't feel well the rest of the day after I ate it. I'm not sure if its from the tofu or if I just had too much chocolate, seeing as how I couldn't resist plopping a few (at lot) left over chocolate chips in with the mousse. I also made cinnamon/brown sugar/pecan pancakes for breakfast. They were yummy!

Today
This morning I did my Push workout. I did pretty much the same as last week but I did one extra bench push-up to total 7 and 30 tricep dips. I then finished up with 10 minutes on the bike.

I think I hurt my back putting my gym bag in the car this morning so I may postpone tomorrow's run for Thursday and ride with Jason to work tomorrow. Might as well save some gas if I'm not going to run tomorrow. Plus, I'll get to work at 6:30 which means I'll get to leave around 3:30. Double yay!

I've been trying really hard to reel in my portions. I only had two pancakes yesterday morning - normally I would eat, like, four - and I only ate one been & rice buritto for dinner last night with some blue corn organic chips & salsa. Jason followed suit - he usually eats at least 4 when I make those burritos - and we were both able to bring leftovers to have a burrito and chips for lunch today. Yay for us! I was so proud of him! Especially because lately he's been eating himself sick, it seems.

Well, that's it for now. I'll post on my vegetarian experience later tonight or maybe tomorrow, since I won't have a workout to blab about.

Happy Monday!
