Did you save room for dessert?

Ohboyohboyohboy!

Who's sick of the snow?!?! MEEEEEE!!!

It took me an HOUR AND A HALF to get home from work last night! Usually it takes me 40 minutes - and that's on a bad day!!
The further south I went, the worse the roads got. But I was sort of expecting that because the snow storm came from the south. About 5 miles from my exit, I got sick of sitting in traffic and just decided to exit early and go through town. Believe it or not, the city roads were better than the highway! Of course, they had like 3 wreaks in a row so the plows hadn't been able to keep up with that stretch of highway.

We got even more snow last night and I hate to say it but I'm kinda glad Jason's not working because I was able to drive his truck to work this morning and made it with no problems. What a relief!

One of the guys I work with said that his neighbor may be selling a '91 Jeep Cherokee sometime this spring. It would be great if we could buy that for less than $1000 as not only a work vehicle for Jason but also a second 4wd vehicle that I could use in the event that we have inclimate weather, like yesterday and today. We'll see what happens. I'm not going to hold my breath though cuz the guy said his neighbor just mentioned it one day as a possibility in the future.

So anyways, I finally left the craiziness of the interstate and was plodding along through town. During this time I got a phone call from an unknown number... "hmm, who could this be? I really shouldn't be talking on my phone at the moment but maybe its important..." Well, low and behold it was the manager from the restaurant that I applied to and interviewed at last October. I had spoken with her on Friday when I made reservations for us to eat there and mentioned that I was still interested in working there.

Long story short - I start this Friday at 4:30! Yay!

It really couldn't have come at a better time. For now, its going to keep us above water rather than just treading until Jason goes back to work. Once he does, we'll be able to get gazelle intense on our debt-payoff! Yee haw! (the gazelle reference is a Dave Ramsey thing...)

On top of that, my father, who just happens to be our landlord, gave us a reprieve on our rent until Jason goes back to work. I assured him it wasn't necessary but he insisted. Rather than spend that money away, I'm going to stock pile it. The last time Jason was laid off, which happened to be for 3 months, we ended up owing money toward our health insurance plan. Not cool. This time I'm going to be smart about it. I'm going to hang on to that money to contribute toward our health insurance in the event that Jason is laid off for an extended period of time. I'm hoping that we won't have to use it and I'll just give it all to my dad once Jason goes back to work. I'm just hoping that a) Jason's not laid off for 3 months and b) my dad will accept it when I try to give it to him.

Nevertheless, its looking like our journey to become debt-free is going to progress a little faster than I had originally anticipated, given that Jason goes back to work soon. I'm trying to stay optimistic. With spring closing in on us, they should start to get work in again. We'll see - keep you fingers crossed.

So, as a result of all this job/money craziness, I haven't posted a February budget. I probably won't either as everything is so up in the air right now. Plus, I have no idea how much extra money I'm going to be making at the restaurant.

Lastly, I managed to get my Speedwork run in this morning:

1 mile @ 12:00
1 mile @ 10:00
.5 mile @ 12:00
1 mile @ 10:00
.5 mile @ 12:00
.4 mile @ 17:00

Total mileage = 4.4 miles

I was aiming for 5 miles but my stomach just wouldn't let me. I finally had to call it quits, but I was fine with that - walking on a treadmill bores the bajeezes out of me.

Well, I've got a busy schedule ahead of me today:
Work till 4:30
Stop at pharmacy on way to hair appt at 5:30
Go straight to Volleyball @ 7:00
Finally get to head home.
I miss my puppy and hubby already!!!

Tomorrow should be a little less hectic - which is good because I'm in the middle of a good book that I want to finish up before I start my new job on Friday!!

Hope everybody had a marvelous Monday! Here's to a terrific Tuesday!!

Ciao!
