I did manage to get a few workouts in, however.
Wednesday night I got a pretty decent workout in after work.
Saturday I worked out after my weight watchers meeting and my legs and butt have been uber sore all weekend.
AND I actually made it to the gym this morning! HOLY COW! Let me just say that the morning crowd is a totally different breed and that I am a total dork at 5:30am. I kept tripping over things and dropping stuff... oy!
So, a few years ago I bought one of Jillian Michael's books "Winning by Losing". I've restructured my workouts according to her fitness program which focuses on a good circuit training routine. Unfortuantely I was only able to get a 10 minute run in this morning, but my arms and (especially) my legs feel like jello. Here's how my workout went:
Muscle groups trained: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Quads, Rectus Abs
The workout calls for 3 sets of 15 reps for each circuit. The only one I wasn't able to do 15 reps of were the modified push-ups. Oh yay, I've already got something to work toward...
5 Minute Warm-Up on Elliptical (with arm movey things - yes, that's the technical term)
Circuit 1
Modified Push-ups (3 sets of 5)
Hack Squats (with exercise ball against wall and weights) 15/15/12 lbs
Circuit 2
Dumbell (DB) Chest Press 7.5lbs (all three sets)
DB Flys 7.5 lbs
Sumo Squats
Circuit 3
Tricep Bench Dips
Leg Extensions 80/70/80 lbs
Circuit 4
DB Lateral Shoulder Raises 6/6/5 lbs
Basic Crunches
Circuit 5
DB Tricep Extensions (one 10 lb weight held with both hands overhead)
Scissors (30 reps each set)
10 minute run at 5.5 mph (forgot to note distance, somewhere around .9 miles)
5 minute cool-down (walked to complete 1 mile total)
I've sort of got my points planned out for the day. I hadn't realized that my brother's football banquet is tonight (he's a senior and we've gone to all of his other stuff, so it wouldn't be right if we didn't go to the banquet which is sort of the season ender). Anyhow, that's going to totally mess up my menu I had planned for today but with the way I've been feeling, I don't think I'll over eat much tonight. My stomach has been making these weird gurgly noises ever since I got to work. Oh boy.
So my menu look like this for today:
Snack (after working out): Special K Cereal Bar - 2 points
Breakfast: Left over "Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole" - 6 points
Lunch: Left over "Hearty Beef Stew" - 8 points
That totals 16 points and leaves me with 5 for dinner tonight. My workout this morning gained me +7 activity points. So technically I have 12 points for dinner, but we all know that I don't like to add my activity points back in. I feel like that's cheating.
Also, I know that I had originally said that I'd be keeping track of my health and fitness as well as our journey to becoming debt-free.
Well, we currently have BS1 (Baby Step 1) competed (that's a $1000 emergency fund) and will be starting our debt-snowball (BS2) the first of the year. Right now we're saving for Christmas presents and a few maintenance items on Jason's truck so we don't have any money going to our snowball at this time. I will post our budget after the first of the year once we get the ball rolling.
I'll leave you with some pictures from this weekend:
This is the Spice Cake I took to my grandparents' house. I used cinnamon and a paper stencil to do the letters and leaf motif. Yum-o!!! My brother said that you couldn't read the letters - Its supposed to say "Happy Thanksgiving".
This is our dog Ozzy. He was trying to figure why I was taking picture of the cake. I have no idea what's going on with his nose hairs. What a dork!
Me and Jason chillin at Grandma's after Linner (lunch/dinner).
And then there's my "little" brother who weaseled his way between us with his bowl of sherbert(its a love seat, mind you, and his elbow was digging into my hip the whole time) He's attempting to hang the spoon on his nose but mom snapped the pic too quick. What a nerd!
Always interesting at our family gatherings.
Well, Happy Monday everybody!
Ciao,
Lace
