Breathe In, Breathe Out....

It hasn't been a good morning. I'll just leave it at that. I told myself that I'm not allowed to use my first blog as a vent fest so I'm just going to keep working on my breathing. In. Out. In. Out.

So, last night on our way home from work (sometimes hubby and I ride together to save gas since we both drive 30 miles to work) we stopped at the gas station near our house for him to fuel up. As I was people watching - such a fun pastime - I noticed there was a box sitting outside the door with a sign on it that said "Free Kittens".

Are you kidding me?!?! Somebody just left a box of kittens sitting outside?!

Long story short, we ended up taking two of them (there were 5!!!) home with us to turn into barn cats (we live next door to my parents and they have a horse farm).

Well, later that evening, after I got my hair cut, I had to stop and get gas as well and there were still two left. Fortunately hubby found out when he went in to pay for his gas that the woman working in the gas station had brought the cats with her to work because the mama cat let her last two or three (can't remember) litters die. I don't think the parental units would have been too thrilled with me bringing four kittens home! Although, it wouldn't have been any different than one of ours having a litter. But still. So sad. At least somebody didn't just dump them there. The woman seemed to be genuinely concerned about their well being.

Alright, so yesterday I sucked in the "work out department". But part of that was because I had my hair appointment. And you don't even want me to get started on how annoyed I am with our stove and microwave. ugh. Don't ever try to cook in a hurry - they do everything they can to sabotage your meal. Usually they win. I keep a supply of Hamburger Helper ready - you really can't screw that up.

Regardless, today I'm finally going to make it to the gym after work. yay!

Note: I have only run twice since Halloween for a total of 6.5 miles - and some of those miles were walked. Oh boy, I suck.

However, in my defense, I ran a 5k on Halloween (where I got my new PR of 30:28 woot!) but I got bronchitis almost immediately because it was freezing cold and raining. Awesome. So, I wasn't able to run for two weeks because I could barely breathe standing still. Then, I had a reaction to my antibiotics that also prevented me from working out. So, all in all, November has been a pretty pathetic month.

Sorry, I digress.

After this weekend - when the gym schedule goes back to normal - I'm going to try going to the gym in the morning (thanks for the inspiration/motivation, Kelsa!) before work on monday, wednesday and friday - that way I can still ride with the hubby on tues/thurs (luckily I have flexible hours at work) and since this is a blog partially about tracking my workouts and weight loss, here's my plan:

Monday - run 30 min, abs, biceps, chest, quads, butt, inner thighs
Wednesday - run 30 minutes, abs, triceps, shoulders, back, hammies, calves, outer thighs
Friday - 60 minute spinning class
Saturday - long run, abs

At first I was going to go mon-fri and take the weekend off but I think that's a little ambitious. So, I'm going to start out with three mornings a week and also go saturday morning after my weight watchers meeting. Plus, I have no clue what the locker room/shower situation is going to be like at 6:30/6:45 in the morning so this plan may not work out at all. (I'm trying to at least get in to work by 8:00 - I'm keeping my fingers crossed!)

So, I'm going to use tonight and tomorrow night to plan out my routines for Monday and Wednesday mornings. It will be nice to get back in the groove again. I'm almost positive that's also the the reason I've been sucking so bad with my weigh-ins at weight watchers. I'm back to paying again. Jerks.

Well, I probably should at least make an attempt at being productive at work today. Fortunately, I've simmered down from the morning I was having. I think I'll grab a cup o' joe and get to work. Might turn on some Sinatra or something.

Ciao,

Lacey
