Wow, so apparently I'm now a weekly blogger rather than a daily, or every-other-daily blogger. I suck. The days are just flying by and before I know it, its Monday again! Oy!
Well, as usual, I've been working a ton but fortunately my shifts have become more regular. So my typical week looks like this...
Monday - Work 7:30-4:30 & Waitress 5:30-11:00
Tuesday - Work 7:30-4:30
Wednesday - Work 7:30-4:30 & Waitress 5:30-11:00
Thursday - Work 7:30-4:30
Friday - Work 8:00-12:00 & Waitress 4:00-12:00
Saturday - DAY OFF!!
Sunday - Waitress 11:00-9:00 this time varies, some days I only work 11-3, or 3-9 or I'll work a double shift and do the whole time 11-9... phew talk about exhausting
On top of all of that, I'm trying to keep up with my early AM workouts (at least I'm scheduling it into my calendar, whether I get up in the morning is a whole different story). So, on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat I plan to go into the gym and do Push/Legs/Pull/Core (respectively) with 20-30 minutes of cardio afterwards, depending on how much time I have.
And Tuesday nights I have volleyball. But, and I hate to say it, thankfully, that only has a few weeks left. I'm looking forward to having Tues & Thurs evenings to relax or possibly get some more cardio in... Knowing me, the time will be spent relaxing.
Unfortunately, the days I'm waitressing are the "slow days" at the restaurant - with the exception of Sundays around lunch time. So, my tips have been sucking pretty bad - I rarely make more than $50 unless I work a double. But, its nice that I'm getting to take my time to get used to the whole process and learn the menu. I've been told that it picks up in the summer and it will get busier on the days I work as it gets nicer. I'm probably going to stick with the "slow days" through the summer and then once it starts to get slow again in the fall/winter, I'll switch to working just 3 days a week and do tues/thurs/sat. Tues/thurs are wing nights and Sat is their busy weekend night. The only bummer is that if I work Tuesday nights, I won't get to play volleyball so we'll see if I end up working Tuesdays in the fall. I already kinda warned our team captain that I may not be playing next session and she was cool with it, she said she understood completely. But then again, she's also one of my best friends, so she knows what my schedule is currently like.
So about those early AM workouts. I FINALLY got to the gym this morning. I seriously don't know when the last time was that I went. Feb 21st, maybe?? I did Push and cardio:
PUSH
2 sets of 12
Superset 1
- Dumbell Bench Press (20/20)
- Modified Push-ups (12/10)
Superset 2
-DB Shoulder Press (12/12)
-Tricep Extensions (20/20)
Superset 3
-Max rep bench pushups - 12
-Max rep tricep dips - 30
CARDIO
2 miles on treadmill. Time = 22:30
Not bad for not being able to breathe. (I still haven't gotten my inhaler...)
So, have any of you tried the P90X workout routine and eating plan? We have a 24/7 P90X infomercial channel and I had Jason switch to it last night. After we watched it for a little bit he asked if I was thinking about getting it, to which I responded "yes". I've actually been thinking about it for a few months now. Well, without being prompted the slightest bit, he said "I'll do that with you if you get it!!" I was ABSOLUTELY FLOORED!!! Now, my dear ol' hubby is by no means out of shape, but he's doesn't exactely follow a fitness program, either. So I'm super stoked that he offered to do this workout program with me. Not to mention, I could potentially get rid of my gym membership if its something that I really do use and that works for me. That would save me $240 a year!
The only bummer is that I wouldn't be able to go work out with my mom after our weight watchers meetings on Saturdays.... but maybe I could just pay a "guest" fee... hmm something to look into... We really only do that once a month now, anyhow.
Well, here's to hoping its a good week.
In case I'm not back for a whole other week, I've got my appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon on Wednesday to look at my knees and I'm taking Thursday off of work to go to Cleveland with the hubby to the Outdoor show at the I-X Center - one of the good things about him being laid off: I can take off of work during the week and we can go do stuff like that when there's not a huge weekend rush. Yay! I sure hope he goes back to work soon, though!
Until next time (let's hope its not next week)...
