I'm alive! I swear!

Yes, I'm here! I swear I'm here!

I've had about a kazillion things going on and haven't had the time to blog.

I've kept up with reading everyone else's blogs but haven't contributed to my own. (starting to sound like a broken record, huh?)

Once things calm down a bit (and I'm hoping they will in the next few weeks) hopefully I can get back to writing but until then, don't completely write me off. I'm still here, I'm just lurking for the time being!

Until next time,

Lacey

A month? Already??

Wow, sorry for being MIA. I haven't forgotten about you guys! I've been keeping up with reading all of my favorite blogs but I just haven't had the opportunity to contribute to my own!! Oy!

It feels like I've had so much going on but really I haven't. I'll give you a quick recap as I actually have things to get done at work so I can't stay long.

I'm still here!

Alright, so last time I left off, I had an appointment scheduled with an orthopedic surgeon to look at me knees. That was last Wednesday. I went to my appointment as scheduled and, basically this is what he told me:

Wanted: More hours in a day

Wow, so apparently I'm now a weekly blogger rather than a daily, or every-other-daily blogger. I suck. The days are just flying by and before I know it, its Monday again! Oy!

Well, as usual, I've been working a ton but fortunately my shifts have become more regular. So my typical week looks like this...

Workaholic

Howdy. Well, I've offically done a horrible job in the blogging department, haven't I?

Well, mostly its because I haven't had time. All I've been doing lately is working and sleeping and, if I'm lucky, I get to stop to eat every once in a while.

I'm at least a little less stressed out now that I've decided not to tackle the half-marathon this year. Not to mention my face has cleared up as well. I was obviously WAY more stressed than I thought because my face was breaking out like crazy! Worse than I think its ever been, and I don't usually have "face issues" much...

Anyhow, TMI, I know, sorry. I think there's a half marathon in our area this fall so depending on how my summer goes, I may try to do that one. I would really really like to at least get a 10K under my belt this year as well as run a sub 30 5K. I think that those will be my two goals to replace the half-marathon goal - although the sub 30 one was already a goal, if I remember correctly.

I also went on Friday and saw my doctor about my knee problem...

Change of Heart

If it were easy, everyone would do it.

Ain't that the truth.

Training for half-marathon is tough enough when you've got the time, energy and desire to push through all those greuling, 5:00 am "tempo/speed" runs and two hour long "long runs" on the weekend.

Add in just a pinch of the basic factor of "life" and it gets even tougher yet.

Throw in a dash of my-knees-are-the-size-of-grapefruits-and-feel-like-they're-going-to-explode and my-nerve-is-pinched-in-my-back-again and things go downhill fast.

So have you guessed what I'm getting at here???

Not. Good.

Alright, so I FINALLY did my tempo run last night.

You how so very often you dread a run and you moan and groan about how much you don't want to run and then you finally get up the gumption to run and you're so glad you did because you feel so much better?! You know, the runner's high?

Yeah, well, I didn't experience that last night. In fact it was the very opposite... I felt worse after I ran.

I'm alive! I swear!

Yes, I'm here! I swear I'm here! I've had about a kazillion things going on and haven't had the time to blog. I've k...
